Project Runway Season 9 Invite

Wow! It is always such an honor to be invite to a Fashion Week show, but some shows are just breathtaking! This is the second season I have been invited to the VIP pre-show and main show for Project Runway!

Tim Gunn had me as his guest to the show last season and brought me back this season as well. (Thank you, Tim!)

I arrived at Lincoln Center at 6AM. The VIP pre-show is before all the events. After the pre-show, I roamed around the lobby until it was almost time for the main show! I hurried back and found my seat. The collections were stunning!

Ok, so Dear Lifetime, I am sorry I "borrowed" my seat sign and will never return. Please don't let this stop you from inviting me to the next year's Project Runway Finale. I had to show it to my school so I could have an excused absence.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Project Runway Show

I am sorry to have left September and not show you the Project Runway show pictures or explain how I got invited.

Well, Tim Gunn is actually a very good professional friend of mine. He and I have bonded over our many encounters and he sent me his two tickets available to each member of the crew for the show. It was so sweet of him to do so.

Please note: I do know who the finalist are, but I can't say anything!

It was truly one of the best days of my life! I still keep in contact with Tim and I assume I will be seeing him in the near future.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week:Getting Ready for the Project Runway Show

On September 8th, I left on a bus trip - a four hour bus trip - to NYC. I was invited to the Project Runway Finale Show at the new Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. I was invited by Tim Gunn, Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne, Inc., and mentor on Project Runway.

I arrived at my hotel at 11:30pm-ish. As I was checking in, the receptionist looked at the screen and then behind her. She left her check-in station and picked up an Anthropologie bag and said "This was messengered here for you."

I had requested a bag from a designer and I did not know if you she would send it to me or not. The designer, Rebecca Minkoff, has created a mens' line. The bag was gorgeous. Perfect in every way. The attention to detail was flawless.

At around midnight I fell asleep to the sound of sirens, cabs honking, and the subtle glow of a city that never sleeps.

I woke up at 4:45am since I was also invited to the top secret pre-show, where I was able to find out who the finalist are. (NOTE: I can not and will not say more than that.) 

I loved the outfit I picked out:
